The City Compact

The Compact provides a framework for partnership working between the City of London Corporation and the City’s public, private and voluntary and community sectors, setting out what each can expect from one another.

The Compact recognises the contribution the voluntary and community sector makes to society and is a key step in building its capacity. CITY.COMM is the support network for voluntary and community groups in the City.

The Compact's shared vision

“To ensure a cohesive and vibrant relationship between the public and third sectors in the City of London - a relationship that will promote our role as a world class city and maximise high quality, accessible and responsive services for our worker, residential, and business communities.”

In addition to Vision, the Compact includes three key elements:

  • Shared Principles – guiding how partners signed up to the Compact will work together
  • Codes of Practice – practical guidelines to help us achieve our Shared Vision and Principles
  • Implementation – how we will ensure the Compact works, including how it will be implemented, monitored and reviewed and how any disagreements will be resolved.
