How the health check works:

1. Spotting and tackling weaknesses in your organisation
The Healthcheck is a quick and easy way for you to spot any problems or potential worries for your organisation.

  • Call us to arrange a health check meeting with our organisation development officer
  • Work through the health check framework (this takes around two hours)
  • During the meeting, you’ll build up a development plan, based on areas of weakness that you’ve spotted
  • We will then be available, during the following few weeks and months, to offer hands-on support in putting the work plan into practice
  • Congratulations! Once you’ve tackled the areas of weakness highlighted in your development plan, you’ve completed the health check.

2. Showing funders that yours is a strong and reliable organisation

Once you have successfully worked through the Healthcheck, you can demonstrate to local funders (and others that might be interested) that yours is a strong and reliable organisation. The City of London Corporation, City and Hackney Primary Health Care Trust and others are increasingly looking for dependable organisations which have the capacity to take on long-term contracts. The Healthcheck acts as a useful guide to which organisations are ready to take on more substantial pieces of work.

How does this link to quality marks like PQASSO?

The Healthcheck has been specifically designed to link to other quality marks. If your organisation has undertaken PQASSO, or Investors in People it will be very easy for you to achieve the Healthcheck. For those organisations that have not undertaken a quality mark, the healthcheck provides a great introduction to quality management. With support from CITY.COMM, you can develop your organisation so that you achieve the Healthcheck, and then go on to tackle other quality marks, like PQASSO.
