Flossie 2012 Conference
Flossie 2012 conference will take place on 25th and 26th May at Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Campus.
Flossie 2012 will bring together women using open software and open access in non-profits, digital arts, social change and education for 2 days of talks, panels, workshops and spontaneous sessions. Flossie has its roots in social change as well as arts, technology and academia - so whether you code, tinker, or want to explore new alternatives to 'big tech'corporations, all women are welcome to share what we've been doing, our ideas, skills and experience. City-wide residents’ meetings
The City-wide residents’ meeting offers residents the opportunity to hear from elected Members and senior officers from the City of London Corporation and City of London Police on City-wide issues such as crime, health, planning and the environment. This event also provides residents with an opportunity to ask questions and raise issues about living in the City of London.
10 days left to apply to the Lord Mayor's 25th Anniversary Dragon Awards
The 28th of May, which is the application deadline for this year's Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards, is fast approaching. Now is a good time to decide what category to apply in, collect your stats and quotes and start writing the application! Become a Community Champion for Health in the City
The City LINk is looking for "Community Champions" who can organise an event to bring people together.
The LINk can provide a small amount of money (up to £300) and come along to provide information and listen to people's views.
Your event could be a lunch time drop-in, a group activity, a family fun session or something you know would appeal to people in your community. This could tie in with a group meeting or activity that happens regulalry, or be a special event for local people.

Youth Work Training at London Youth
We are now recruiting for the next Introduction to Youth Work training course - Tuesday 19th and Tuesday 26th June 2012 10-5pm. A two day, accredited course for people who work or volunteer with young people in youth work settings.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the basic information, skills and knowledge that everyone working with young people should know.
