The Lord Mayor’s Show is a colourful procession through the City of London and this year will take place on 10 November 2012.

 

Capital Jubilee Fund

Grants of £250-£1,000 for events to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Apply by 17 February 2012.

The Capital Jubilee Fund is making grants to voluntary and community groups organising events in central London to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the summer of 2012. These will include street parties and local events taking place between 1 May and 31 July 2012.

Priority areas

Extra priority may be given to projects that bring together generations, support older people, or children and young people, to enjoy the jubilee.

Speak Up Fund - Grants for 20-50% of film production costs

The Speak Up Fund is run by the Community Film Unit to partially fund films for organisations and groups that are dedicated to their local communities.

Santander Social Enterprise Development Awards

Deadline: 5pm on 3 February 2012

Awards will support social enterprises working for the direct benefit of their community via one or more of the following critical social outcomes:

  1. Improving Social Inclusion
  2. Supporting Disadvantaged People through skills, training and employment
  3. Creating a Greener Environment

The Santander Foundation will work with the award winners for three years to assist these businesses with:

  • Assessing the community impact.
  • Using the prize money to its full potential.
  • Adding value to their enterprise.

NEW - Active Grants programme

The St Katherine and Shadwell Trust has begun a new grants programme, Active Grants.

Active Grants are small grants (up to £3,000) to encourage people to get involved in their communities.

War Stories during National Storytelling Week, 28 Jan - 4 Feb

As part of National Storytelling Week (28 January - 4 February) join us at the London Metropolitan Archives for a day which reveals war stories from the collections through letters, personal accounts and film.  Explore the work of writers such as Sarah Waters, who have used LMA’s records.
