What does the Big Society mean for you?

The Big Society is the overarching concept that encompasses the Government's policies to redistribute power from the state to society; and from the centre to local communities, and to give people the opportunity to take more control over their lives.

There is a wide range of information on the NAVCA website (National Association for Voluntary and Community Action).

See their articles and links to keep yourself up-to-date.

The Consultation Institute has also set up a Big Society area on its website. you can download a briefing paper and look out for others as they are completed. Go to the Consultation Institute's Big Society area.
