What's your opinion on the City of London Licensing Policy?
The City of London Corporation invites your views on its Licensing Policy, which is subject to a statutory review every three years. The revised Licensing Policy is due to come into effect on Monday 10 January 2011.
The current policy will be revised to reflect changing circumstances and relevant concerns and comments received. The new policy will continue to focus on promoting the four statutory Licensing Objectives:
- prevention of crime and disorder;
- public safety;
- prevention of public nuisance; and
- protection of children from harm.
The consultation period is already underway and will end on 30 September.
The City of London Corporation is asking for comments in relation to how the City of London can best promote the above Licensing Objectives and particularly:
- Can you provide examples of serious issues or concerns emanating from licensable activity in your area of the City during the past three years, which should guide our approach to licensing in the future?
- Are there any specific policies you would like the City to adopt or retain which will assist in the promotion of the four Licensing Objectives?
- Have you any examples of good practice from other licensing authorities that you would like to see the City adopt?
- Are there any other changes you would like to see in our current Policy?
